Self-Confidence and Self-Esteem Coaching

Self Confidence
Self-confidence affects the way we feel about ourselves much of the time, the way that we feel when with others and our ability to relax.  Most importantly, it affects our levels of happiness and self-value.

Self-confidence is, at heart, our belief in our own ability to do certain things.  Many people gain self-confidence from completing tasks successfully.  However, when they undertake new tasks where the outcome is uncertain they might start to believe that they lack self-confidence.

With which of the following statements do you identify?

•      I believe in myself.
•      I can cope even if the outcome isn't what I expect or want.
•      I don't attempt to do some tasks, for fear of failing.
•      I have a lot of negative ‘self-talk’ going on inside.

Self Confidence Coaching aims to restore your faith in yourself and your abilities and to accept uncertainty. It also aims to alter negative thinking patterns, to enable you to face any fears about performing certain tasks or situations.

Self Esteem
Contrary to popular belief, this is not the same thing as self-confidence. We may possess the confidence to perform certain tasks and yet still experience low self-esteem. For example, we may be confident in our ability to excel in a specific sport or to do our job well or give a good public speech. But even though we succeed in a variety of individual disciplines, we fail to appraise ourselves and our total self-worth in a positive way. Self-esteem is the way that we value our total ‘self-worth’, not just our ability to complete tasks in certain areas.

Have you ever experienced any of the following?

•      A low sense of self-worth.
•      Negative patterns of thinking.
•      A low self-image.
•      Not being true to yourself.
•      Comparing yourself to other people.
•      An excessive need for approval.

Self-Esteem Coaching aims to develop a good sense of self-value and self-worth by addressing limiting beliefs, focusing on identifying and resolving the root cause of the problem and challenging negative perceptions.
